St Edward 4th Grade & Under Girls Cross Country State Champions
Congratulations to St Edward 4th grade & under girls for winning the Cross Country State Championship Saturday, October 27th in Lexington Ky. There were about 4000 runners from over 200 schools that participated in the middle & elementary school races. This accomplishment was even more impressive considering St Edward was one of the smaller schools. St Edward only has about 16 girls in the 4th grade so the
talent pool was considerably smaller than some of the bigger schools that has enrollment of 1500 or more.
St Edward also had the individual State Champion in Abigail Bohn who covered the hilly 2K (1.25 miles) course in a record time of 7:57.40. Madeline Powell was St Edward’s 2nd runner placing 8th, Taylor White was 11th and Julia Connelly 27th. The rest of St Edward’s winning team are. Chloe Griffis, Lauren Bohn, Kaci Mundorf, Rachel Greathouse, Brenna Wyman, Emma Ryan, Lilly Ramirez, Hannah Bohn, Emily Webber, Molly Walker, Olivia Barnett, Julianna Markert. This was the 2nd year in a row the girls won State.

Lauren easily took 1st place by setting a new 2nd grade course record. She covered the hilly 800 meters (1/2 mile) in 3:16 breaking the old course record by 2 seconds. This is also the fastest 800 run in the State so far this year.
